OLD POST

Ok, here is a post I never published, but here it is. no pictures from the weekend of June the 24th!

Bear and I have this habit of cramming adventures into our weekends. If we're not out and about doing something, we're drained of energy and just take naps.

And this past weekend was no exception.

Friday - I came early in the morning to help Bear back up his apartment and load his car. While he was at work, I cleaned the apartment as much as I could, and watched the Princess and the Frog on Netflix. FINALLY. I thought that movie was absolutely adorable. When Bear came back that afternoon, we finished loading both of our cars, and headed to his new apartment and began unpacking. We were getting a little aggravated with each other around this time hahaha, but it was OK.

Then after that we decided to get dinner at our favorite sushi place, Edo in La Jolla. We got two rolls, and this fatty tuna sashimi that my brother was going nuts about. It cost a fortune, and let me tell you... it wasn't THAT amazing. I'd have regular tuna over it any day :\

Saturday - We woke up early and I got to see Alex's uncle since my baptism. That's like over 2 years ago, then after that we went to a place called Cody's. Parking was a nightmare, but we somehow managed to find VIP parking near the restaurant. ZOMMMG, best French toast EVER. I'm in love.

Then after that we went to the Running Store to get me some running shoes!! That place is amazing. After finding out I'm lopsided, have one 7.5 foot and one 8 size food, and spent way too much money on insoles, I am a now the proud owner of LEGIT running shoes. It's like I'm running on clouds!

THEN we cut people in line to get off the exit to the Del Mar Fair!! Everyone and their mom was at the fair that day--it was SO packed. But we did what we went there to do - ate a turkey leg, looked at the bunnies, ate a cinnamon roll, looked at the student art exhibit, drank lemonade, walked around the game section, and ended by buying a fried Snickers. I seriously spent like $50 at the fair alone. Sweet mercy! But it was all worth it to eat that cinnamon roll. Seriously, the best cinnamon roll you can ever have touch your lips.

After THAT we went straight to Petco Park to go to the Padre's game!! First of all, Alex and I aren't baseball fans. Like, at all, but it was nice because I got to see his dad for the first time in a while. But then we got kicked out of those seats, so Alex and I went to the top to find out actual seats, and there he ran into his friend's from his old ward. It was nice to put faces with names. Then we found out a sister that served with Alex in his mission was at the game also, so we went to find her, and we talked to her for a while. She was awesome :] But then Alex and I decided that it was time to go (during the 7th inning bahahaa) to Long Beach.

So Alex and I drove separately to Long Beach (we didn't want to bother Alex's uncle as we worked like a madman on a project at the apartment). So I'm pretty sure we knocked out after getting back.

Sunday - We woke up, made french toast, fell back asleep until Church. We had to leave after sacrament because Alex had to drive back to SD. I made him stay long enough to eat the nummy dinner I made - chicken, baked beans, garlic mashed potatoes, corn bread, and brownies! Then we took a nap, because that's what we do best, and then Alex left to San Diego land.

Then I picked up my BFF Josh and we went to the Irvine Fireside to hear Elder Groberg's talk! Sweeeeeeet!

"You Fly, I Buy"

Father's Day weekend, my brother, sister and I all headed down to our parents' house for the weekend. It's always fun when we're together, and for the first half I mostly hung out with my brother and we did what we always do - go to the movies.

This is probably in my top-ten favorite movies ever. I thought it was fantastic. It's like a modern-day Goonies. They don't make movies like this anymore, and JJ Abrams... that man is like a sci-fi God.

I just realized that the picture I chose is in French... Anyways, I really liked this movie!! I think my brother and I are the only people who thought the graphics were downright embarrassing a few times. Like, we just looked at each other and busted up laughing in the middle of the movie because the graphics were horrendous. Other than that, I thought it was great! James McAvoy never lets me down.

I love the summer movie releases.

Summer Reads

Please look past the heinous book cover. I know... Anyways, I'm in Sister Tingey's Summer Book Club! This was the first book, and it's the same author of P.S. I Love You. Basically it's about an anal woman who has to raise her 6-year old nephew who has an "imaginary friend", only his anal aunt can see him too, and romance begins. I know the summary sounds a little weird, but it's actually a very good read. I enjoyed it.

Annnd, that's all I gotta say about that. I'm bad at book reviews :]

♥♥♥

LA Galaxy FTW!

This weekend has been awesome! Did I mention how much I love summer? Bear came to visit and with it came a sweet surprise!

They are so pretty! Anyways we tried to use our Fandango tickets to watch Super 8, and we were really excited, but when we got to the theater, we found out we went to the wrong theater and it was too late to try and make the movie :[ BUT we made up for it and went to El Torito to have a yummy meal! Our waitress was awesome and ghetto. LOOOOVED her.

The highlights of the weekend though were Meagan and Jared's wedding and the LA Galaxy game!

Meagan did such an amazing job transforming the Church Building for her reception. You couldn't even tell it was the same Church building! It was BEAUTIFUL, and totally my style. Loved all of her little DIY touches. The best part was when the bridal party was introduced, they busted out in a choreographed dance that was amazing. Love that lady and I'm so happy for her!

After the dance, we had to jet-pack out of there to make it in time for the Galaxy game. We got pretty good seats. We were so close to David Beckam's body.... The game was so much fun!! The crowd was really entertaining too. Such a a great sport to watch.

Week 2

Hawaii with my family. It was a long, but enjoyable trip. Things to remember: it's not exactly how I imagined Hawaii, it rained a lot when we came, Polynesian Culture Center is awesome, and I got destroyed at Haunama Bay :[ Here are some pictures to some it all up:

I'm very grateful to have the opportunity to visit, and none other than with my favorite people. Oh yeah, I pretty much fell in love with the Polynesian culture and variety of dances, so now I'm in my Church's dance show.... say whaaaaat? Hahhhh.

Summer 2011

It's gonna be bommmmmb!

I mean, on my top priorities is to get my portfolio site together, but a week in, and I'm a happy camper.

Last Thursday Alex came to visit me since we hadn't seen each other for a few weeks because of finals. That night, we decided not to go to the temple, because 1.) I was BEAT from all of the all-nighters that week and 2.) I just wanted to marinate in Bear love. So instead, I think we just went back to my apartment to snuggles.

Friday we got up late, Bear went running... and I didn't :] Then he was sweet enough to drive us to Santa Ana so I could get some paperwork I needed for school. We had to wait a while, but it wasn't too bad!! We hurried back to Long Beach to make it back for Wybo's BBQ. We were kinda late, but it was fun! We played frisbee with Wybo's cute French Bulldog that was super loud and nasal-y; played ping pong; and ended with Apples to Apples. 'Twas fun! After that Bear and I went to finally use our Fandango tickets and watched the movie Thor. It was OK.... that would be a lie... I LOVED IT!! BAHAHAHA! It was so cheesy and awesome. I screamed yelled really loud at one point, and was laughing like every two seconds. "My mortal body grows weak. I need sustenance!" I think that night we drove around a lot, because I'm bad at directions and got Simone donuts! Nom! After that we had a Barnes and Noble date where we bought Lord of the Rings as our summer read together, and he also bought me If You Could See Me Now, so I could be a part of Sister Tingey's Summer Book Club.

Saturday I had to go to Megan's bridal shower, so Bear dropped me off and I went and ate and chatted to people I never talk to. It was awkward, but I love Megan and can't wait for her wedding! Then Bear picked me up and we drove to LACMA! It was both of our first time there, and I don't think we were too fond of it, but I also think we were tired. We were leaving when I told Bear to pull over so we could go see this big pet adoption event in the park, but we MISSED IT! Dang it! We saw some cute dogs, then we realized we were next to the La Brea Tar Pits, so we walked around, and I made a My Girl joke, but Bear didn't get it... Sigh. After that we were hungry and went to get Jamaican BBQ (I think), then changed our minds after driving through Little Thailand, so we decided to get Pad See Ew in Asia Country. Then we went home to sleeeeeep.

Sunday - CHURCH! Poor Bear. I had no food in my apartment, but found some steaks, so I cooked those up. I was so scared to make them well-done that I made them pretty rare.... hahaha, but bear didn't complain. He never does.... I take that back. He doesn't complain about little things. I'm sure I do that enough for the both of us... I think we watched Borne Identity and then I think I read some Lord of the Rings until Bear got sleepy.

Monday - I forgot to mention that Saturday we made a plan to go rock climbing in Santa Barbara, and after much reminder from Alex, we set it up so we could crash at 'Cole's. Anyways, I thought it was a joke, but Bear had every intention of going on a mini roadtrip, so we did! We woke up early, had Mini Spooners, went to Fresh n Easy to get snacks, got McDonalds breakfast, I slept, and we made it to State Street where we pooped in Starbucks. Then we ate at our favorite place Pierre LaFond and got a REALLY good kobe burger and a hummus appetizer.

Then we went to an outdoor store to get more climbing gear, and then we were off to the mountains! I fell asleep again, but Bear did a great job without me finding the place! Too bad for us these jerks were already climbing the route, so we had to walk around and find a different route. that took forever, and we almost broke our necks crawling up the side of a mountain on loose gravel to get to the top!! It was scary! Then Bear propelled himself to the bottom and I had to get belayed down, then Bear made me climb back up to pack up the stuff and belay back down. We thought the jerks who took our original climbing spot would be done after Bear climbed, so he climbed it (it was really hard), and then he broke everything down. then when we walked over, those guys were STILL CLIMBING IT!! THE SAME ROUTE LIKE 20358209385 TIMES!!?!!?? bleh. We were over it, so we drove to the mission, took our food and crashpad out and just had a little picnic near the garden before heading to Oxnard.

'Cole's was fun! We hung out with her and her family as they made dinner and then we watched MEGAMIND!!! Hilarious!!!! LOVED IT! Then we knocked out.

Tuesday - In the morning, we took 'Cole otu to breakfast before we made out trek to Malibu to do more rock climbing!

Malibu Creek is byfar one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in. For me it was a dream from my childhood. I always wanted to live in the forest where there was a creek... It was so fun! Then it got really hard, because we tried to find the climbing routes, and again found ourselves in a situation where we could have died. THERE WAS A SNAKE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! So we turned around, and went to an earlier route we saw, and climbed that. Basically I suck, and couldn't finish it!! MY ARMS ARE SO WEAK! I was so mad at myself. I tried twice and had to give up because I couldn't even hold the rocks any longer. :[

After that, Bear and I walked back to the creek with the intentions of cliff jumping into the creek! We saw three girls do it in their bikinis earlier, but we weren't sure this time if it was deep enough. It was scary high!! Then this kid came and did it, so Bear jumped right after him. I really wanted to do it, but it was scary!! Anyways, I decided to do it, because I never had! so I stripped down to my undies and t-shirt, and walked to the edge. Bear was recording me, but it took me a while to commit. The boy behind me was trying to encourage me and started counting down, and I shut him up real fast. THAT DOESN'T HELP! Anyways, I just jump and it was like you're falling forever. It was cold, but refreshing! then Bear and I walked back to his car soaking wet. :]

Oh yeah, once we got to Long Beach we showered and got dressed really fast because we met up with my friends Emilie and Art for dinner at Open Sesame! Emilie was moving to Chicago so it was my goodbye dinner with her since I couldn't make it to her big one. The food was nummy.

Wednesday - Bear and I woke up late, and then went to Josh's graduation!!! Yayyyy! It was SUPER hot and sunny outside, and Bear ended up getting CRAZY sunburned on his thighs :[ After we congratulated Josh and took pictures, we went to Carson to pick up my printer from the FedEx office. While we drove I read If You Could See Me Now aloud to Bear. After being probed at FedEx we went to the town center and to get Bear some shorts. I continued reading until we got there, and although Bear didn't get shorts, I got me some new bikini bottoms :D Then we picked up Courtney and took her to Lucille's BBQ with us! It was really fun to eat and talk with Court. I love her so much. She's hilarious. Bear and I shared a full rack of ribs with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. The biscuits were super good, and we got a huge jar of strawberry lemonade! Nommmm. After dinner we were stuffed and sleepy so we took Court back home and went back to the apartment where I cleaned and packed my stuff while Bear did summer school stuff. I went to bed really late, and I was getting sad that my time with Bear was almost up :[ He was continuing his climbing road trip to Palm Springs with Calen, while I was going to Barstow to go on my next adventure to Hawaii with the fam.

Thursday - Bear helped me load up my stuff then he dropped me off at school so I could go to work. He planned on staying until I was done with work so he could help me jump start my car. It was really sweet of him to do that. Sighhh. After we jumped it, we went to BFarms and he bought me a nummy chicken salad sammie. We said our goodbyes and we drove off. Him to Palm Springs, me back to school to meet up with Robyn and Hasan to take pictures of my pieces for my portfolio. It was fun to be reunited with them and J and Bku. Love those guys. After all that was done, and I dropped of Robyn to her car, I headed to Barstow which is where I am now.

I finished reading If You Could See Me Now, bought some clothes and ice cream, and packed up my stuff for the trip. I've never been to Hawaii, and I'm starting to get excited. It's going to be beautiful--I can't wait to be in the summer sun. I can wait to get a little darker though...

Basically my summer has been nonstop adventures, and I'm loving iiiiit! I can't wait to get mine and Bear's bikes fixed. Then I will truly love summer.
